Today 22nd Jan 2016 was the burial ceremony of Sen.(Dr.) Chris Ngige, OON father's burial at Alor Town Anambra State.
Nigerian politicians went to the ceremony to give him their support.
Those present were; President Mohammadu Buhari, represented by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Engr. Babachir Lawal former Nigeria’s Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, Governor of Anambra State, Mr Willie Obiano, Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa who came with a team of prominent Deltans, Former Governor Anambra State Peter Obi, Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo State, former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Peterside Dakuku, Rotimi Amaechi, Segun Osoba, Kayode Fayemi and so many other Senators, Ministers and top officials.
Chief Pius Kanma Okonkwo Ngige (also known as Akunnia) was born in the year 1910. He died at night on the 4th day of September 2015.
His survived by his brother (Alfonso), six children, 30 grand children and 30 great grand children. Also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, sons and daughter-in-law, Umu-Ngige clan and other relatives.
The mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Alor, Anambra State with an entourage of Catholic Bishops and Priests in attendance.
